In pursuit of a simple, fabulous, imperfect life at home.

My Fall Mantel

It's finally ready!  My fall mantel.

And the lovely faux fireplace that my husband built at my request.

(Even though he kinda thought the idea of a faux fireplace was stupid...

...he has since confessed that he sorta kinda maybe likes it just a little bit.)

I'm going to have a real place to hang my stockings this Christmas!   I am so excited!

Did I just bring up Christmas in an Autumn post?  It's like a sickness with me. I've been planning Christmas since August.  I started late this year!

I had to chase my toddler around the house to retrieve these mini pumpkins.  I'm pretty sure some are still missing.

Thanks for visiting The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking.

  2. Yay for mini pumpkins!! I'm hoping my toddler doesn't leave them stranded around the house as well, lol.

  3. Gorgeous, what a great idea! I love the idea of a chalkboard with verses, and what a great verse you picked too.

  4. Can you tell me where you got your throw that is on the sofa in one of the photos above?

  6. Hi! Was the faux fireplace a DIY project or did you buy it? I'm very interested in how you did this. Thanks! :)
