{OrganizedHome} Day 25: Bathroom Storage
October 25, 2011

We share one bathroom among seven people. Granted, 2 of those people have little use for a bathroom.
Gratuitous baby photo:
None the less, we have to make the most of our bathroom storage. I have a linen tower that stores hand towels and extra toilet paper. The polka dotted bowl holds little things like nail clippers and tweezers.
The linen tower has a drawer outfitted with small square organizers to hold our hair elastics and what-not.
Below that is a cupboard with tooth brushes and baby bath towels.
In the sink Vanity I have three plastic baskets labeled for myself,my husband, and the kids.
I've hung hooks on the inside of the cabinet to hold my hair dryer and straightener.
At the thrift store I found a basket that just has coated wire on the bottom (no baskety-ness) so it is perfect for storing bath toys.
I try to choose bath products in mostly white containers whenever possible to create a cohesive appearance.
Our organized bathroom serves us well.

STILL loving these posts. Thanks for my next organizing idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very organised bathroom. I love that you buy all the same colour-themed toiletries. I need to put a few little dividers in my drawer to separate all the clips etc. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteOkay, lets see if I get this right.

Your babies are adorable. I really need to get on the ball with bathroom organizing. I know I am not making the best use of the space!!
ReplyDeleteawwwwww! love the baby pics!!!
ReplyDeletethe hair accesory storage inspires me- thanks!!
Perfect timing! I was justing agonising this morning over how to get our bathroom organised. It's being frustrating me for months. I had planned to go to the shops today infact. Now I know what to look for! Love your ideas. Thanks. P.S. Your babies are adorable!!!
ReplyDeletethese are some great ideas!! we may just be two people sharing one bathroom, but we have limited storage- definitely want to use the "hair products on a hook" and the personal basket ideas! these would work GREAT! thanks for the inspiration ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to tackle my bathroom after reading this. I've used just whatever baskets I have had. I love the look you've created.
ReplyDeletePS The babies are beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I have a question (love the post by the way- some great ideas!): Is the cabinet under the sink one that came with the sink, or did you install/build it? I saw something recently that was a cabinet to fit under a pedestal sink, but it wouldn't have worked for ours....I feel like we have so much wasted potential organizing space there!!
ReplyDeleteLove the individual baskets idea for corralling everyone's things- so going to do that! And the hooks to hold the hair dryer & straightener is great idea too! Thanks for helping make my bathroom a little more organized!
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that there is something wrong with me that I struggle so much to keep things cleaned & organized with my family of 3 (1 of them being 10 1/2 months old!).

ReplyDeleteWe have the same sink, cabinet only in brown. Its once piece. Hope that helps.
DeleteI love the hook for the hairdryer - wish I'd thought of it years ago! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYour babies are absolutely cute, I love the style of your bathroom.!Thanks for this post. Good job.bathroom storage ideas
ReplyDeleteThis is inspiring. I love that you have a small house because I also have a small house. My family of four moved into a 1050 sq. ft. house with 1 small bathroom four months ago (My baby is 5 months old). It needs a lot of organization still. But this is very helpful!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I love your mirror!
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly organized in this room. I have a basket for each of us (and one for the first aid items) in the linen closet, everything folded and stored neatly. I do, however, have too many towels now that I think of it.
Very nice! I, too, have ultra small bathrooms. I am going to try some of these. Thanks for posting. Cute babies, too :)

ReplyDeleteI just have to say, WOW! I had twins, they were numbers 4 and 5. I don't remember much of that first year, and here you are, organizing for all of us! You are amazing. Thanks for taking the time to share your ideas. Aren't twins great?
ReplyDeleteI grew up with a "seven to one" bathroom. Never looked anything like this. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteSuper Super cute babies!!!!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in a five to two and a half bathrooms and they never looked this good. Way to go. Right now I'm in a three to one bathroom and it looks good on the outside but don't open the drawers.
ReplyDeleteI almost forgot I love the white containers idea. I never thought of that! I'll admit I am very easily swayed by colorful products.
ReplyDeleteYour babies are adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove this! Question.....where did you get the holder for the candles on the back of the toilet? I have looked everywhere for something similar and am having no luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great ideas!!! I have a question. Can you tell me your paint Color ??? I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteHi! It's Benjamin Moore's "Blue Grass".
DeleteI love the mirror where did you get that?
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas! Thank you for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteis there a tip on cleaning fiberglass bottom that is cleaned but leaves behind dark stain?
ReplyDeleteIm just wondering - Do you wear makeup? I notice you dont have any makeup in your bathroom. Do you have a vanity in your bedroom? Just curious, as makeup is my main storage issue in the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteHi Aurii! No, I don't wear make-up, but even when I did I kept it in my purse so I could put it on in the car after the kids were all safely strapped into their carseats! lol.
DeleteMake up is an issue for me, as well. I'm actually in the middle of creating an organizer for it where you buy a cookie sheet from the dollar store, and magnets. Glue the magnets to the back of your compacts, and hang the cookie sheet on the wall. Easy Peasy and you can cover/paint it any way you like!
Delete(yes this is a late post =c))
I can completely relate, we have 6 of us using one bathroom. Like you, I have made every inch in their organized to fit our every day needs. Just from personal experience, wet bath toys in a wicker basket is a black mold nightmare! Especially in a small bathroom. Ick! We have a small mesh bag that we keep the toys in now! Great ideas, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI <3 the gratuitous baby pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteBathroom storage cabinets are a godsend to all of us who like a neat and orderly bathroom and they can also add a touch of style to the most ordinary bathrooms. Take a look at this selection from the cheap and cheerful to the outrageously expensive and get some bathroom design ideas for your own home.
ReplyDeleteI love this! We share one bathroom among four people, with our twins due in June! Organizing our bathroom is one of my current projects. Since our house has no laundry/utility room (washer and dryer are in the kitchen), our bathroom also serves as a laundry collecting/sorting place. I love how you used hooks to store your dryer and straightener, I'm doing that today!
ReplyDeleteI also hang my hair dryer from a hook and it was probably the BEST bathroom decision I've ever made.
ReplyDeleteThe hair accessories... right, it's always a mess in our room; this one does the trick ;) Thanks
ReplyDeleteI also never thought of the Vanity Sink with baskets for everyone. Nice!
