In pursuit of a simple, fabulous, imperfect life at home.

{Giveaway} A fabulous 'Thirty-One Gifts' Organizing Utility Tote

***This Giveaway is now CLOSED***

One of my lovely sponsors, Jessica of Thirty-One Gifts, recently sent me the Thirty-One Gifts Organizing Utility Tote to review. (Have I mentioned lately that I *love* my job?)  It is a sturdy, roomy bag with 7 pockets. And today I get to give one away to one of my wonderful readers!

To demonstrate that there are many possible uses for this bag, I decided to try using it in a few different ways around my home.

I started by loading it up with all my scrapbooking supplies.  Since I don't have a craft space and often use my kitchen table, coffee table, or even our bed as a scrapbooking space, this is a super handy way to keep my supplies in one place and ready to go.  Plus, if I ever do get the chance to go to a scrap night with girl friends I can just grab the tote and go!

My sister in law was here when the bag arrived in the mail, and after the initial oh's-and-ah's she said that she would use the bag to cart around all her knitting and crochet supplies so that she could work on projects while away from home! (note to self: get one of these for sis-in-law for Christmas.)

But my favourite way to use this bag is as a diaper bag.  I was desperately in need of a great diaper bag.  So today I packed the bag up with diapers and bottles and sippy cups and took it for a real life test drive...

To my favourite store.  With a Caramel Mocha.  Yes, I live a ridiculously charmed life, I know.

This bag was big enough to hold everything I needed, and then some. It's simple and stylish, and with the help of some buggy hooks it hangs neatly on my stroller keeping everything in arms reach.

Plus, I figure that the 7 sippy-cup sized pockets means that I can have at least two more kids.  Just kidding.  Sort of. Not really...

Now for the Giveaway!  Jessica of Thirty-One Gifts is going to give one Organizing Utility Tote to one lucky reader! The winner will even have several fabrics to choose from!

There are 2 ways to enter:

1. For your first entry, comment below to let me know how you would use this fabulous bag.  Make sure that you enter your email address so that I can contact you if you win!

2. For a second chance to win, share this giveaway in any way you choose.  You can share it to facebook or twitter, email your mom, or tell your best friend. Whatever you want! Once you've shared it, just make sure you leave a second comment telling me that you did so that you double your chances of winning, okay?

There are only a maximum of two entries per person.  Meaning that if you share this giveaway on both facebook AND twitter I may love you forever but you won't get a third entry into the giveaway.

Please visit Jessica's Thirty-One Gifts web page to browse her catalog and spend some time drooling over some great bags and baskets and organizational supplies!

I am going to draw the winner on Friday.  Best of luck!

  7. I would also use it as a diaper bag for my two little ones (love the pockets!) and then when we begin homeschooling I would use it as a filing/storage/organizational space as I've seen other folks do! Also, I'm sharing this on fb right now....... :) alohapuella@aol.com

  11. I would most likely use it as an "everything" bag for all the kids "stuff" when we travel or have long family outings (which happen a lot!). Thanks for the chance to win!

  12. Wow, that looks amazing! I would either also go the scrapbooking route, or I would use it as my "theater" bag, to hold my scripts, music and pencils (and of course snacks for all the hungry actors!)

  13. I would also give this as a gift to my sister-in-law who could use it as a diaper bag or home school bag. She could transport her school supplies to the co op.

  14. I would give this as a baby gift to my sister-in-law to use as a diaper bag! She is due June 4th. My "baby" is four years old and I would have loved to have this way back when. :o)

  15. I would take it with me to some of my pampered chef shows! it is a nice convenient size to bring all the equipment and ingredients i would need to do a quick and simple cooking show (only bring what u need to cook the meal!). Also as a dance bag for my niece, since she does 6 different types of dance, each pocket can store a different type of shoe, and in the middle all her outfits for practice!

  16. I would either use it as a diaper bag or a bag to store things that need to go up or downstairs.

  17. Also shared this on facebook with my sister, who would probably use it for her diaper bag or schoolwork. Or maybe her knitting?

  18. Well my kids are, just recently, outgrown of diapers (YAY!), but I would definitely use it to carry things on trips. For example snacks, extra change of clothes for the kids (accidents happen!), sun screen, juice, whatever goes with the activity we are doing that day. On other days when I am just running errands, I can keep it in the back of the car with things we might need that day (again a change of clothes) or make-up for touch-ups, coloring books to keep the kids occupied, etc. My email is rebeccagooche@gmail.com

  19. I would use it for my scrapbook stuff too! Then oneday when its that "time" for me, maybe a diaper bag too! ;) Been wanting one of these - I hope I win!! :)

  20. We're out of the diaper bag stage, but I'd load it up with snacks, craft supplies, and library books for my kiddo on the days she has to hang out with me at work.

  21. I have a 2 year old & 6 year old. I find I am always having to carry their stuff in my purse or an extra sling backpack where ever we go. This could be my catch all. I don't want to carry a diaper bag but there are times I need something & we are in the middle of the store & its out in the van. This bag would be PERFECT for such things. Also, for our day trips to the park or soccer games. The patterns are amazing & I have other Thirty-One items. LOVE them. Very sturdy & again, the patterns fit every one & any one. I shared this on Pinterest! Following you now.

  40. As a homeschooling Mama to two kids with four sets of grandparents between them, we are forever moving between grandparents homes during the week and our small apartment (820 square feet!). The open adoption of my eldest child means that we have adoptive grandparents (my in-laws and my parents) as well as her biological grandparents, all of whom are involved quite closely in our lives and the lives of all the kids.

I love bags like this because I can keep the schoolwork organized for the week in folders and have the reference binder for last week's work, the textbook or iPad (if that's where the textbook is) along with the craft/art supplies for my youngest, as well as his diapers and sippy. And if there's a bit of room left, my crafting materials and Kindle!

I actually already have one (hope that doesn't disqualify me!), & I keep it at my feet in the front seat so stuff is handy when they ask for it, & I carry it in whenever we stop somewhere - perfect!

  95. I cart my breakfast and lunch daily to work and whatever else I need to take care of that day... like mail to be sent, grocery lists, coupons, etc. I am one that prefers to get the errands done on my breaks / after work before I get home. It roomy enough to hold my thermal lunch tote, pockets that can hold an umbrella, water bottles, coupon envelope, items for primping when necessary. BUT the bag is also functional enough to use on the weekends for my step-son's baseball games. I can fit treats in the main section or a picnic blanket, Gatorade or water in the pockets for all of us, camera and still have a stylish bag. Or, for sewing… Oh man, the possibilities are endless!!!

  108. I love this bag! Right now, we use a Thirty One large utility tote as a "catch all" in our car. I would love to use the organizing tote instead, as it would give us pockets for some of the smaller items that live in our car.

Another way I would consider using this bag is for homeschooling. I have a similar bag (but smaller) that is not made by Thirty One. I store markers, scissors, glue, etc in the outer pockets. I use the inner pockets for our picture books for the week and file folders of our weekly printed activities/papers.

  118. I would use this bag as a diaper bag. When I was still pregnant, I actually ordered a 31 utility bag to be my diaper bag, but because the 31 party didn't get enough response, they cancelled the order. I was very sad about this, but would still love the utility bag for a diaper bag. It's more organized and roomier than the bag I'm currently using. 120. And my husband wouldn't be embarrassed carrying it around either! :)

  130. I would LOVE that bag! First I would use it as a diaper bag, my baby girl is 5 months old, and the bag I have is too small. Then I would use it to hold my quilting supplies as I intend to use the clothes (and a few receiving blankets) that she has outgrown to make her a keepsake quilt. I have never quilted before, but I'm eager to try... When she's finally sleeping through the night that is...

  160. I'm training for a Marathon...after my work outs I end up piling all my Gear in a corner or it ends up on the floor. I could use this bag to keep all of my Running things in it. Each pocket could be used for something different. a pocket for my reflective vest. A Pocket for my head lamps. One for my Gels and Energy Bars. One for my hydration Belt. and the middle pocket can hold my Shoes and Running Clothes once they are washed. It would hang nicely and organized in my closet and an easy grab for when I'm meeting someone after work for a run. it would be WONDERFUL!!

  167. I totally saw it before I read on in the post and immediately thought: crochet! diaper tote! Beach bag! diaper tote/purse/bag for small amount fo groceries! O, the possibilities. And as for the extra 2 pockets? Use one for your phone/keys and another for your wallet so they don't get lost in the depths of the bag. Oh how I hate that! Or you could use it for a few special stuffies (like I'd need to use it for my phone/keys, wallet, my daughters "phone/keys", my daughters "wallet", Elmo, my water bottle, and my daughters water bottle. There, 7 sections all filled up, lol!).

  183. I would give this bag to my daughter to use as a diaper bag BECAUSE she is expecting her second child in 7 weeks. Her first child is not yet 14 months old!! Someone gave her the small utility tote with her son's name on it, and it has been her FAVORITE diaper bag. BUT with a second son arriving soon and two in diapers for quite a while, she will definitely need the LARGER utility tote as a diaper bag for the two babies! She (we) already know it would be perfect!! mmbarker@embarqmail.com
