One of my lovely sponsors, Jessica of Thirty-One Gifts, recently sent me the Thirty-One Gifts Organizing Utility Tote to review. (Have I mentioned lately that I *love* my job?) It is a sturdy, roomy bag with 7 pockets. And today I get to give one away to one of my wonderful readers!
To demonstrate that there are many possible uses for this bag, I decided to try using it in a few different ways around my home.
I started by loading it up with all my scrapbooking supplies. Since I don't have a craft space and often use my kitchen table, coffee table, or even our bed as a scrapbooking space, this is a super handy way to keep my supplies in one place and ready to go. Plus, if I ever do get the chance to go to a scrap night with girl friends I can just grab the tote and go!
My sister in law was here when the bag arrived in the mail, and after the initial oh's-and-ah's she said that she would use the bag to cart around all her knitting and crochet supplies so that she could work on projects while away from home! (note to self: get one of these for sis-in-law for Christmas.)
But my favourite way to use this bag is as a diaper bag. I was desperately in need of a great diaper bag. So today I packed the bag up with diapers and bottles and sippy cups and took it for a real life test drive...
To my favourite store. With a Caramel Mocha. Yes, I live a ridiculously charmed life, I know.
This bag was big enough to hold everything I needed, and then some. It's simple and stylish, and with the help of some buggy hooks it hangs neatly on my stroller keeping everything in arms reach.
Plus, I figure that the 7 sippy-cup sized pockets means that I can have at least two more kids. Just kidding. Sort of. Not really...
Now for the Giveaway! Jessica of Thirty-One Gifts is going to give one Organizing Utility Tote to one lucky reader! The winner will even have several fabrics to choose from!
There are 2 ways to enter:
1. For your first entry, comment below to let me know how you would use this fabulous bag. Make sure that you enter your email address so that I can contact you if you win!
2. For a second chance to win, share this giveaway in any way you choose. You can share it to facebook or twitter, email your mom, or tell your best friend. Whatever you want! Once you've shared it, just make sure you leave a second comment telling me that you did so that you double your chances of winning, okay?
There are only a maximum of two entries per person. Meaning that if you share this giveaway on both facebook AND twitter I may love you forever but you won't get a third entry into the giveaway.
Please visit Jessica's Thirty-One Gifts web page to browse her catalog and spend some time drooling over some great bags and baskets and organizational supplies!
I am going to draw the winner on Friday. Best of luck!

I could see this as a home-office-in-a-bag, as a snack tote for road trips and sports events, to carry books, lunch, etc. to work . . . oh so many possibilities!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous bag! I, too, would use it as a diaper bag when I'm out with my two girls OR a scrapbook supply bag OR a place to keep my current sewing projects OR a library book bag for our weekly trips to the library. :)
ReplyDeleteI shared on Facebook :)
ReplyDeleteI shared this post on Facebook!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas! I also would love to have this bag! My email is jessica031304@yahoo.com :)
ReplyDeleteI love these totes! I would use mine to carry books, or for day trips to the zoo. my email: tifandgrant@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThis would be our first diaper bag. We are praying about the right time to pursue pregnancy, it probably won't be far off!
ReplyDeleteI would also use it as a diaper bag for my two little ones (love the pockets!) and then when we begin homeschooling I would use it as a filing/storage/organizational space as I've seen other folks do! Also, I'm sharing this on fb right now....... :) alohapuella@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI would have lots of uses for this bag. Taking work home from the office, going scrapbooking, multi use in the car!
ReplyDeleteI just shared this on facebook! jessica031304@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteShared this post on facebook! email: tifandgrant@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI would most likely use it as an "everything" bag for all the kids "stuff" when we travel or have long family outings (which happen a lot!). Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks amazing! I would either also go the scrapbooking route, or I would use it as my "theater" bag, to hold my scripts, music and pencils (and of course snacks for all the hungry actors!)
ReplyDeleteI would also give this as a gift to my sister-in-law who could use it as a diaper bag or home school bag. She could transport her school supplies to the co op.
ReplyDeleteI would give this as a baby gift to my sister-in-law to use as a diaper bag! She is due June 4th. My "baby" is four years old and I would have loved to have this way back when. :o)
ReplyDeleteI would take it with me to some of my pampered chef shows! it is a nice convenient size to bring all the equipment and ingredients i would need to do a quick and simple cooking show (only bring what u need to cook the meal!). Also as a dance bag for my niece, since she does 6 different types of dance, each pocket can store a different type of shoe, and in the middle all her outfits for practice!
ReplyDeleteI would either use it as a diaper bag or a bag to store things that need to go up or downstairs.
ReplyDeleteShared on Twitter
ReplyDeleteAlso shared this on facebook with my sister, who would probably use it for her diaper bag or schoolwork. Or maybe her knitting?
ReplyDeleteI shared on my Facebook Wall!
ReplyDeleteWell my kids are, just recently, outgrown of diapers (YAY!), but I would definitely use it to carry things on trips. For example snacks, extra change of clothes for the kids (accidents happen!), sun screen, juice, whatever goes with the activity we are doing that day. On other days when I am just running errands, I can keep it in the back of the car with things we might need that day (again a change of clothes) or make-up for touch-ups, coloring books to keep the kids occupied, etc. My email is rebeccagooche@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would use it for my scrapbook stuff too! Then oneday when its that "time" for me, maybe a diaper bag too! ;) Been wanting one of these - I hope I win!! :)
ReplyDeleteWe're out of the diaper bag stage, but I'd load it up with snacks, craft supplies, and library books for my kiddo on the days she has to hang out with me at work.
ReplyDeleteelizabeth@distinctivedecor.com
I have a 2 year old & 6 year old. I find I am always having to carry their stuff in my purse or an extra sling backpack where ever we go. This could be my catch all. I don't want to carry a diaper bag but there are times I need something & we are in the middle of the store & its out in the van. This bag would be PERFECT for such things. Also, for our day trips to the park or soccer games. The patterns are amazing & I have other Thirty-One items. LOVE them. Very sturdy & again, the patterns fit every one & any one. I shared this on Pinterest! Following you now.
ReplyDeleteI emailed to my friend Beth. Still trying to think of how I would use the bag - so many possibilities!!
ReplyDeleteI've also emailed the link to this contest to about 5 of my friends who I know LOVE Thirty-One products. Thanks! I love your blog. rebeccagooche@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteI would love to have this bag and put all my crocheting in it! right now all my yarn just sits in a pile! my email is LaurieB323@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI see this bag as my multi-purpose bag. A diaper bag, snacks and toys bag, reusable shopping bag and a great Bible bag! I also see this as a great bag to take with me when I go to craft fairs and bazaars! I love the pockets and it's a great size!!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I'd probably use this to organize my crafting supplies or as my "activity bag" for trips - books and entertainment for the toddler AND for the mama!
ReplyDeleteAs a 55-year old full time student this would be a wonderful book bag. The way the handles are made and attach would definitely make it very strong. Or I might use it to carry the books I use to teach my ladies Sunday School class! Or for my knitting when I travel! Or for scrap-booking supplies when I attend our community scrap-booking evenings! Or when I go on jobs for my event planning business! Or...O my the possibilities are endless!! Peggy My email is ajoyousaffairtn@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteMy email is rogcris@integrity.com. Thanks
ReplyDeleteDiaper and gear bag, particularly for travel and church
ReplyDeleteThis looks like it would be a great overnight/weekend/road trip bag, which we seem to be doing a lot of lately.
ReplyDeleteI would use this bag as a "Mom" bag. It looks big enough to put my wallet, household binder, diaper stuff for 6 month old, a few small toys for 6 year old and even hold my 14 year old's IPOD or other accessories while on a trip or just running errands. - Heather Long halong79@msn.com
ReplyDeleteLove that bag! I just got engaged, so I could definitely use it to tote around my growing collection of bridal magazines, wedding planner, etc! It would also make a great bridesmaids gift!!
ReplyDeleteMelissa (mames2012@gmail.com)

As a homeschooling Mama to two kids with four sets of grandparents between them, we are forever moving between grandparents homes during the week and our small apartment (820 square feet!). The open adoption of my eldest child means that we have adoptive grandparents (my in-laws and my parents) as well as her biological grandparents, all of whom are involved quite closely in our lives and the lives of all the kids.
ReplyDeleteI love bags like this because I can keep the schoolwork organized for the week in folders and have the reference binder for last week's work, the textbook or iPad (if that's where the textbook is) along with the craft/art supplies for my youngest, as well as his diapers and sippy. And if there's a bit of room left, my crafting materials and Kindle!
I would use it to tote afghans around that I am crocheting - they get too big and bulky for most bags but I think this one would do the trick!!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was to use this as a diaper bag.
ReplyDeleteI would use this bag as an "everything" bag. Beach, diaper, scrapbooking, office, car organizer. I love that it has multiple uses and it is just so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteI shared this on Facebook, Google+ and my blog! Thanks for such a great giveaway and many thanks to Jessica!

ReplyDeleteI love your idea to use it as a diaper bag. I need a better one than the one I am using and this looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love 31! This is a great bag for road trips with toddlers/preschoolers - it holds cups, snacks, diapers, wipes, a few books, plus MY stuff. I actually already have one (hope that doesn't disqualify me!), & I keep it at my feet in the front seat so stuff is handy when they ask for it, & I carry it in whenever we stop somewhere - perfect!

ReplyDeletei love to knit with friends and this is a great way to tote and store.
oops (learn to read directions!) sj129@yahoo.com
DeleteI'm so original but I would definitely use it to cart around some of my scrapbooking stuff. I go to visit family on weekends and this would be a great way to bring some stuff to work on but not bring the whole army if you know what I mean. As well to show off some stuff I have been working on.
ReplyDeleteI shared this on Facebook as well.
Kelly might I just say your blogs are really fun to read thanks for sharing your life and ideas with the world.
I would use it as a diaper bag as well! I only have 1 child but you still need a lot of stuff when your out and about :)
ReplyDeletedcinky30@aol.com
Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for running this giveaway!
I would use a bag like this to tote around my supply teaching stuff. I always find it hard to fit my teaching materials, indoor shoes AND lunch into one bag.
Claire @ alittlesomethinginthemeantime.blogspot.com
I told my best friend about the giveaway(I know she will enter). She loves big bags and although I'm not sure what she would use it for, I know it will be put to good use!
ReplyDeletedcinky30@aol.com
I would definitely use this bag for my misc. craft supplies! I don't have any specific place to put them right now, so I have tons of randomn odds and ends in different shoe boxes around the house; under the couch, in the laundry room, in my closet...
ReplyDeleteteal0100@gmail.com
I am a Mom of three Wonderful kiddos Trey my youngest son is 9months My beautiful and only Daughter Janae is 6 years and my oldest son Dakota is 8 years. When I leave work Im already toteing a lunch bag and a work bag. From here I rush to daycare to pick up my three blessings. I then have two bookbags to add to my collection plus Baby Trey's diaper bag. The last stop of the evening is sports. Whew, Dakota plays baseball and Janae is in Soccer. so hard to choose how i would use it! it would be great as a diaper/toy bag, but i really think i would probably end up using it as a craft/scrapbooking bag. my scrapbook desk is downstairs, but i'm NEVER downstairs. it would be nice to keep my current project in that bag to work on in the living room as time allows.
ReplyDeleteI have one that I use as a diaper bag and love it! Would love another to use as a cleaning caddy. Love your blog - filled with great ideas!
ReplyDeleteambertollexoxo at yahoo dot com
This would be wonderful! What a great bag!
ReplyDeleteI would use this as a toddler toy bag for while I'm working...he comes to work with me and it's tough finding something for all of his stuff!
ReplyDeleteI would use it to cart around my scrapbooking stuff, no craft area for me either :(. Or I might be generous and give it to my sister for her first baby due in June...my babies are too old for a diaper bag now, but we could use it as a picnic bag!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great bag! I could use a new diaper bag...or craft bag for that matter!
ReplyDeleteI have 3 little girls and would definitely use this as a diaper bag! No more leaky cups at the bottom of the bag! ;)
ReplyDeletenmbither_2004@hotmail.com
I would use this bag by inserting a portable hanging file folder container to carry work back and forth to work in a very stylish manner.
ReplyDeleteThat is one amazing bag!! I work for my church which is a mobile church, and I am constantly packing things from one coffee shop to another coffee shop for meetings (since we don't have a building of our own), to church and Bible studies. This would be PERFECT for all those things I have to move with me!
ReplyDeleteI would use this as a catch all for the car--it looks awesome! Thanks for the giveaway. :)
ReplyDeleteI shared on FB!
ReplyDeleteHaha have to admit it would make a pretty awesome diaper/day trip with kids bag! And yay for the homesense shopping trip-its saved my sanity many times!
ReplyDeleteNot going to lie, I have WAY to many ideas for this bag. Sewing bag, craft supplies bag, diaper bag, church bag, long road trip bag to visit family. And I'll probably use the bag a little in all (One of my diaper bags use to be a laptop bag - it's great!).
ReplyDeleteMy email is meganalamb at gmail dot com. I hope I win. I can't believe the winner would get fabric choices, because the bag is already fabulous. Wonder what other choices there are :-)
Great giveaway! Thanks!
I would use this bag for carrying things to church with me. Often times I end up carrying mine and my children s Bibles. We usually take along a notebook, pen/pencils. My husband is a Pastor and many times I have paper work with me or certificates etc. It's such a useful bag the possibilities are endless really. :-)
ReplyDeleteEntry number two: Tweeted it on twitter!
ReplyDeleteI emailed this to my sister in law. Whom would probably use it as a diaper bag.
ReplyDeleteI would use this either for scrap booking or as a diaper bag. I'm not sure which it would stay as yet
ReplyDeleteAwesome bag!
ReplyDeleteFirst I would use this as a bag to hold all my toddler's neccesities.
I'm marrying my baby girls father on March 31 so this bag would be perfect for the big day to hold all my crap!
This bag can be used so many ways. Love love love it!
Thirty-One gifts have so many things I would love to buy.

I'm having a harder time figuring out what I won't use this bag for! Grocery shopping with my coupon binder, toting all my things to the library to study, picnicing at the nearby park, beaching this summer, road trips to RI to visit family, or just back and forth between the car!

ReplyDeletecookdunford@gmail.com
This would be much better than the single compartment grocery tote I currently use to cart craft supplies to the youth group I work with!
ReplyDeleteokcharlie88 at google.com
My boyfriend lives in a town 70km from mine, and I'm always catching trains or riding the highway to go there at night and back here for work in the morning. A bag like this would be perfect for me as a travel bag: I could keep a couple of extra pieces of clothes there, and my beuty stuff, and the two or three books I'm reading at the same time, and it could sit nicely next to my desk all the time, ready to be grabbed for a last minute train.
ReplyDeleteSo I'd love to have this! I don't know if Thirty-One ships overseas (I live in Italy), but hey, it was nice to try ;)
buccedimandarino@gmail.com
I would use this as my scraps bag. I seriously need one place to collect all the little extra pieces of fabric I have floating around. But in the summer, that would also make an awesome beach bag!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!
Not having a craft space in my house I have projects in a lot of areas. I'd love to have a portable place to keep my scrapbook projects, sewing projects, etc that also looks fabulous. Working on a little organizing as well so this would help tremendously! My email is shne379@juno.com

ReplyDeleteI cart my breakfast and lunch daily to work and whatever else I need to take care of that day... like mail to be sent, grocery lists, coupons, etc. I am one that prefers to get the errands done on my breaks / after work before I get home. It roomy enough to hold my thermal lunch tote, pockets that can hold an umbrella, water bottles, coupon envelope, items for primping when necessary. BUT the bag is also functional enough to use on the weekends for my step-son's baseball games. I can fit treats in the main section or a picnic blanket, Gatorade or water in the pockets for all of us, camera and still have a stylish bag. Or, for sewing… Oh man, the possibilities are endless!!!

This would definitely be my diaper bag. I'm forever losing little things in the bottom of my big tote.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I told my friend about this giveaway. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this bag! Right now, we use a Thirty One large utility tote as a "catch all" in our car. I would love to use the organizing tote instead, as it would give us pockets for some of the smaller items that live in our car.
ReplyDeleteAnother way I would consider using this bag is for homeschooling. I have a similar bag (but smaller) that is not made by Thirty One. I store markers, scissors, glue, etc in the outer pockets. I use the inner pockets for our picture books for the week and file folders of our weekly printed activities/papers.
This would be an awesome bag for the summer. It looks perfect for hauling swim gear, sunscreen, and picnics!
ReplyDeleteI also posted about it on my Our Little Monkeys Facebook page :)

I would use this bag as a diaper bag. When I was still pregnant, I actually ordered a 31 utility bag to be my diaper bag, but because the 31 party didn't get enough response, they cancelled the order. I was very sad about this, but would still love the utility bag for a diaper bag. It's more organized and roomier than the bag I'm currently using. And my husband wouldn't be embarrassed carrying it around either! :)
ReplyDeleteI also shared this on my Facebook page.
That would be perfect for organizing all the arts and crafts junk!

DeleteI would LOVE that bag! First I would use it as a diaper bag, my baby girl is 5 months old, and the bag I have is too small. Then I would use it to hold my quilting supplies as I intend to use the clothes (and a few receiving blankets) that she has outgrown to make her a keepsake quilt. I have never quilted before, but I'm eager to try... When she's finally sleeping through the night that is...
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these, they are fabulous! Thanks for the chance! I have 3 kids, 6, 4, and 2 months, so I have a lot of stuff I tote and this would be perfect!!

ReplyDeleteThis bag would be "perfect" for me!!!!! We are going to Disney World and I have looked at knap sacks for the trip. This bag is so much prettier than a knap sack. If you picked me, you wouldn't even have to mail it!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely use this bag to take to moms knitting happy hour or craft night. Also would be a great summer beach bag!
ReplyDeleteMagno.Lorena@gmail.com
I would use this bag as our picnic/going on a walk diaper bag...looks roomy enough for sippy cups, snack, and whatever else we may need! Of course, i could be selfish and use it for my scrapbooking supplies or card making stuff I like to take with me when I go somewhere too!
ReplyDeleteI would use this bag for school. I'm a teacher and it would be great to use to cart stuff to and from school, including markers, papers to grade, etc.

ReplyDeletei would copy your idea to use it as a diaper bag- it seems that the bigger my babies get...the more space i need in my purse:) -Kaitlin JKSnyderandCo@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteWow, there could be so many good uses for this bag!! I'd use it to haul all our beach towels, snacks, sippy's in the summer time. I love it!

ReplyDeleteI would use this for kid/family stuff when we go on day trips, or to use for toys/entertainment stuff when we go on a trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a mom yet, but I am an aunt to a 29-month-old boy and 10-month-old girl, whom I love to spoil with story, sticker, and colouring books! I would use this bag to keep their book-stash at my house neat and organized along with some of their other toys for when they come visit! My email address is magda.pavao@rogers.com.

I'm training for a Marathon...after my work outs I end up piling all my Gear in a corner or it ends up on the floor. I could use this bag to keep all of my Running things in it. Each pocket could be used for something different. a pocket for my reflective vest. A Pocket for my head lamps. One for my Gels and Energy Bars. One for my hydration Belt. and the middle pocket can hold my Shoes and Running Clothes once they are washed. It would hang nicely and organized in my closet and an easy grab for when I'm meeting someone after work for a run. it would be WONDERFUL!!

ReplyDeleteI thought of two possibilites. One- a Grandma Bag to have things for the grandkids when we are out together. Two- a home school bag to carry all my supplies when we have a "away from Home" school day.

What a gorgeous bag! I would use mine as a diaper bag too Kelly. My husband has just moved across to the other side of Australia and I need something stylish for a carry on bag for our little girl! This would be perfect! It seems big enough for a thousand change of clothes, diapers and bottles! I will be sharing this all over the web!

I totally saw it before I read on in the post and immediately thought: crochet! diaper tote! Beach bag! diaper tote/purse/bag for small amount fo groceries! O, the possibilities. And as for the extra 2 pockets? Use one for your phone/keys and another for your wallet so they don't get lost in the depths of the bag. Oh how I hate that! Or you could use it for a few special stuffies (like I'd need to use it for my phone/keys, wallet, my daughters "phone/keys", my daughters "wallet", Elmo, my water bottle, and my daughters water bottle. There, 7 sections all filled up, lol!).
ReplyDeleteI would use this to organize foodstuffs for weekend trips! Mackeyda@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby and this toe would definitely be used as a diaper bag. I can't find anything I like in "big box retailers," but this bag is totally cute and looks like there is plenty of cargo space.

I would give this bag to my daughter to use as a diaper bag BECAUSE she is expecting her second child in 7 weeks. Her first child is not yet 14 months old!! Someone gave her the small utility tote with her son's name on it, and it has been her FAVORITE diaper bag. BUT with a second son arriving soon and two in diapers for quite a while, she will definitely need the LARGER utility tote as a diaper bag for the two babies! She (we) already know it would be perfect!! mmbarker@embarqmail.com
ReplyDeleteI think I would use this bag for my knitting - I started after Christmas when my mother gave me all the resources I needed to learn, and so far I've completed a couple of simple projects - I've been trying to find a pretty, but tidy way to store my new hobby, and this would be perfect!!!
