In pursuit of a simple, fabulous, imperfect life at home.

So...Um...We're Having Another Baby!

I spent all weekend trying to come up with a clever title for this post, but it's hard to be clever when you're so excited that you just want to shout it from the roof tops!

We are expecting baby number six in December!

If you've noticed a decrease in blog posts lately, I'm going to blame that on some first trimester exhaustion and morning all-day sickness.  I'm sure I'll make up for it later in the pregnancy when I start nesting and my crazy pregnancy hormones cause me to find ways to clean things none of even knew needed to be cleaned!

And to answer the question that everyone seems to ask: No, I don't have any reason to think at this time that there is more than one baby in there!

Thanks so much for visiting The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking!

  9. Yea yea yea! Congrats on having more than 2 kids too. I am all about the number of your family being the size that is right for you, but it just seems almost trendy to have a small family. I want a "brood" as I like to call it and people think I'm crazy. More power to you woman and your family too. I think you do the momma thing so well. Keep up the great work and we'll be patient for the posting!

  12. Oh -congrats! I am one of six kids - it's the best. Christmases are especially fun for me now that we are all grown up. My kids have so many aunts and uncles and they will have so many cousins. You will handle it all in stride! And so nice to see a picture of you - you look beautiful.
Will look forward to learning how to clean... light fixtures? Toilet seals? Hummingbird feeders? And so on. :)

  35. Sweet action! My husband and I are expecting #2 in December (we think that is when). I am so excited. Our first is just 7 months old, so I'm a little scared, but I think if you can do it with five others, I will be okay :) Thanks for your blogging awesomeness, I love to hear about your family, faith and fun.
We also, have not told the internet world quite yet. Friends and family know, but as far as facebook or the blog world, Mum's the word.

  38. I am #8 out of 14 kids. My mother stayed home until the youngest started first grade (we were all public schooled).... I always thought I wanted a huge family... I couldn't imagine live without perpetual mass chaos. Then I had my second baby, looked at my mother and said, "HOW ON EARTH DID YOU DO IT?"

I am awed by anyone who has the patience and endurance to handle a big family. I tip my hat to you. Congratulations!

    P.S. In case you're wondering, my mother's response was "I don't know. I just... did it." :)

  82. Wow! Congratulations! It looks like you have a set of twins also? You are such an inspiration for me! I have a 3 year old and we are expecting our first set of twins in August! I feel I am going to have lots of headaches these first couple months with keeping an organized home! But, I admire, that you have soon to be six children and you still manage to be so organized and such a fantastic role model! Prayers to you that many blessings come your way! You are a light and strength to many of us mothers!!!

  83. Hello! I stumbled across your blog on Pinterest. So glad I found you. I also have 6 kids. They are 7, 6, 4, 3, 18 mos and one due in July. I so totally understand your post about realizing our kids are a gift TODAY and not "in the future". So often I struggle to survive the day that I wish that time away and then feel guilty after everyone is tucked in bed. Guilty that I rushed them or was short with them.

Looking forward to getting to know you and your family better through your blog!

  87. Congratulations! I am expecting our 5th in October, and he was a complete surprise! I do have to admit I probably have it a little easier. My boys are 13, 10, 8, and 4, so I won't have little ones and a newborn. Good luck!

  88. Congratulations. I just discovered your blog via pinterest and have been working my way through your posts. Delightful blog and think I'm now hooked :) I'm also expecting a baby (only no.2 though) in December, so I'll enjoy following alongside someone on the same timeline as me. I hope you are keeping well, and enjoying your pregnancy xo

  89. Congratulations! I found your blog through Pinterest. We just had number four 6 months ago. I am so happy for you :). We have been following a year of less and I noticed at the top there were six kids. I admire your willingness to be used by God to train his little army in your part of the world. In the spirit of less,we plan to get rid of the mountain of children's socks and start getting four color socks for our kids (Pink, White, blue and brown). We are getting rid of all the colors. Thank you
