She's Here!

Our baby girl was born last Friday afternoon. She is healthy, and sweet, and has completely captured our hearts. I wish a photo could possibly capture how perfect and kissable she is.

She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz.  We had a natural midwife-assisted delivery in hospital and got to come home later that day.

The dishes aren't done, the laundry can wait, and I'm a week behind on emails.  But these days are so fleeting and precious, so we are taking the time to savour them.

I read your blog in the mornings before I go to work--as a L&D nurse, in a hospital. And today you've got me all excited before I even get on the floor! I hope the babies today are half as cute as Ruby!

  42. Congratulations Glad you had a good midwifery led birth exprience and everything went ok no big bleeding to scare the midwifes with that multigravid uterus!

  43. Oh oh oh you've shared another post I am soooo excited! MAHOOOOSIVE Congratulations on the birth of your gorgeous daughter! And thank you sooooo much for letting us know she arrived safely - I was checking every day! :)
I am also so pleased you got a natural midwife birth! My only (current) daughter was born at 32+4 weeks at home, completely unassisted (longggg story) so whilst I want the next child to be born in hospital, it has bought home to me that actually we don't need all the new fangled technology stuff, she is now a normal, happy 17 month old!
Whilst I do look forward to your next post, I completely agree that you must must must enjoy these moments so forget about emails, blog posts, etc and enjoy it! I now look at newborns (and particularly premature babies) and wonder where the time has gone with Freya (my daughter). XX (From myself and my daughter)

  65. Congratulations on your little girl. I love her precious cheeks. My baby girl was due around the same time as yours. She came three weeks early, however, and went to Jesus four hours after she was born due to some fatal birth defects.
Saying a prayer for you right now as you adjust to your new family member. <3
