In pursuit of a simple, fabulous, imperfect life at home.

Weekend Graces #5: A Happy Little Welcome Message

On Friday mornings I share a small act of love and hospitality to bless the people we live with this weekend.  I call them Weekend Graces, little acts of love to make the weekend shine.

This week's weekend grace is to greet our loved ones with a welcome message upon returning home from work or school or errands or wherever.  Because it's nice to be missed, right?

For me, that meant helping the kids make a greeting for daddy with dry-erase markers on the window of the front door.  But construction paper or a simple post it note would work just as well.

Have a fabulous weekend!

  4. Wish I'd read this sooner. :/ OlderDearDaughter came in last night for her spring break and we didn't have any fanfare. She felt a little disappointed. Trying to make up for it now by cooking her favorite breakfast. K she knows we really are glad she came home.

  8. I am so glad to have stumbled across your blog. When I read your post about not selling your home & instead opting to live simpler, that really inspired me to get rid of the junk in our lives. I can't say that we're even half way there, but can say we are on the right track. I have to remind myself daily that we don't need this, or that, & can say that we are not any less happy for it. Thank you!!

  9. If you don't have dry-erase markers, you can also add dishsoap to regular tempera paint and paint all over the windows. When you're ready, just use a wet sponge or cloth and it just soaps up and washes off!
