Make the most of your space by hanging pretty linens on the inside of the door.

Or take the door off entirely and create a beautiful linen nook!

Consider adding some decorative items.  Who says a linen closet has to be a purely functional space?

Consider scent.  Use lavender sachets or a reed diffuser to make your linen closet smell as sweet as it looks!

Some more ideas for linen storage:
  • Don't have a linen closet? You can easily turn a cabinet, some open shelves, a drawer or an armoire into a beautiful place for sheets and towels.
  • Consider bundling your guest sheets with a wide satin ribbon.  Not only will it look nice, it will keep the pieces together and add to the excitement of dressing the bed for overnight guests.
  • Click here to read my article on folding sheets, including the elusive folding of the fitted sheet.

[This is day 26 in a series called 31 Days to an Organized Home.  Come back tomorrow for the Organized Home linky party!]

  1. You just can't go past Young House Love for making every day things look gorgeous can you?

I'm off to learn how to fold that annoying fitted sheet. Thanks!

  2. I am honored to be in such company!
    Everyone has such great ideas!
Did I tell you that you are one of my new-to-me favorite blogs? Well, you are ;)
As of a few days ago, so I was amazed to see the note from you telling me I was on your post...too cool!
    Thank you!
I pray you have a wonderfully blessed day making your home!

  3. Thank you so much for including CLH in organized linen closets! Knowing where everything's at makes life so much more enjoyable :)

  4. Wow, my linen is form over function.
Now it has something to aspire to!

  5. thanks for sharing such a valuable picture
its very useful and we will follow thanks

  6. Mason jars have served me well! I use mason jars in my linen closet and under the sink for qtips, cotton balls, my husbands random razors, and one for all the fingernail clippers, tweezers etc. My question is how to make storage for all our medications. WE have them all thrown into a drawer in a closet in our spare bedroom. Where and how to store bug spray and suntan lotion?

  7. This post helped me to see how I could organize my bathroom. We live in a small apartment with little storage. I use a baker's rack in the bathroom for toiletry storage, but with new, coordinating baskets, everything looks clean and organized, rather than chaotic! THANK YOU!

  8. I have two linen closets (two in the hallway outside our bedrooms & bathroom). I really need to use the baskets for both (currently 1 has cleaning products, bath supplies, light bulbs, tissues, & TP... the other one just has rags, sheets, and towels).

  9. Yes, you’re post nice! I have every time watch that your source information.

  10. oh man Im hooked! Thanks for all the tips- I only have one baby so far and he overwhelms at times- can't wait to incorporate your ideas! Thanks for the inspiration!

  11. My eyes literally got wide at your link on how to fold sheets! I've always wanted to know how to fold that darn fitted sheet, I always end up saying "forget it!" and just bundling it up and tossing it in the drawer

  12. Thank you so much! I am also one of those people that start out trying to fold the fitted King Size fitted sheet and end up just folding it just to get it folded but looks like I just rolled it up. Comes out sooooo wrinkled. I will try this:)

  13. I might be falling in love all over again. I don't fold sheets I start to fold them and then do a big loop with my arms and end up balling it up and stuffing it in the corner of the top shelf of our linen closet.

  14. I have 7 kids and one linen closet. A very small one at that. I'm going to try so hard to get my linens to look like this but, I'm so afraid to even try. The shear volume of sheets I need to have in crazy!!! I've had days when all the sheets in the house were used as they were all thrown up on! I'm going to get rid of everything that is old and faded tomorrow, I can do that while I put the finishing touches on my Christmas decorations. I can, I can, I can.

  15. I've been looking for Organization help and your 31 days series has sparked my creativity. Tank u!

  16. Nice linen storage; I'll convert one of the cabinets to look something like that ;) Thanks

  17. I have a very deep linen closet so things have to be behind things to use all the space. Don't know how to stack it without being able to get to something else. Need ideas. Help
