In pursuit of a simple, fabulous, imperfect life at home.

{Free Printable} Keeping Records for Entertaining

We've always been the type to invite people over. Almost Immediately after moving into our first apartment together, we invited some beloved friends over for a roast beef dinner...and then we frantically went about salvaging a table and some chairs to eat at!

But because we entertain once or twice a week, every week, we begin to lose track of what people do and don't eat. It's not that we don't care. To the contrary, it's that there are too many people that we care to remember these facts for!

So I made this printable for my own Home Management Binder, and I'm sharing it with you too!  There is a place to write each guest or family's name, their likes and dislikes, and allergies.

Also, I have an irrational fear of feeding people the same meal twice.  So the printable has a place to record what meals you've served each family or guest.  There are only 7 lines, which is fine because once somebody comes to your house for the eighth time they are as good as family and could invite themselves for Thursday night leftovers if they want!

This printable is totally free for you to use and enjoy.  There are two wee little itsy-bitsy rules:

  2. What a lovely idea! It almost sounds like a guest book, or a history of your visitors.

  3. I love your irrational fears. I used to worry about that too - but then I realized that when I make something twice its because I KNOW its good - any hey, who doesn't want a great thing twice!? (Like your mango salsa - need that recipe btw!)

  4. Great idea! I love it and I've already printed out a page to make copies at home. This couldn't be timed better, because my fiance and I have started having guests on a regular basis. thanks for creating and sharing!!

  5. Thank you!! I also entertain on a frequent basis and I'm always forgetting who I served what. I hate serving the same thing twice. With the recent addition of a picky eater (ugh) this is especially helpful!

  6. I am SO not an entertainer. And, I use the excuses that I don't have the space...my friends and family live too far...the house is a mess, etc.

It's so revealing that you had JUST moved into your first apartment and you didn't even have a table for the guests! It just goes to show that if you DO have the gift of hospitality...NOTHING will stand in the way of entertaining.

I, sadly, do not have that gift.
BTW, looks like a really cute organizational tool!
(And, I love what you said about after 7 dinners they can drop by for leftovers!)

I don't know how you have time to have guest with a house full of kiddo's. You are probably more organized then I am and I don't have little ones a round.

  9. I love, love the idea of keeping a record of what you've served guests! I'm always terrified of that. So I'll often make a brand new recipe (risky!) to insure this doesn't happen. I'm going to do this!

  11. I love this! Also, is there a post that shows your dividers up close? The picture where it shows the "Hospitality" divider makes me want to see those closer!
