This is one of those simple, why didn't I think of this sooner? sort of tips.
Never again will we have to risk life and limb (and dishcloths) reaching into a blender to scrub sticky smoothie goop off the blades.
1.Put a squirt of dish soap in the blender. 2.Fill blender 1/3 full with hot tap water 3.Put lid on and take the blender for a whirl. 4. Rinse, dry and done!
Great idea! Wonder if it works when you've just used your blender to make homemade Italian Dressing? I guess I'll try it and let you know. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!! I am always afraid to cut off my finger on the sharp blade. :)
ReplyDeletegood idea! i need this for my smoothies
ReplyDeleteMy blender actually comes with a "Clean" setting. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, excellent idea! I will be trying this after our next smoothie/milkshake, thanks!
ReplyDeleteGENIUS!!! I am going to remember this one :)
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to use this idea! (how on earth did I miss it previously???!!). I am always petrified of cutting myself or leaving behind something that will cause food poisoning, and since I use my blender regularly, I am thinking about that a lot!
Yay!
If you add some ice, it will sharpen the blades, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually embarrassed I never thought of this... :)
ReplyDeleteYou just changed my life. Once again. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI just take my blender apart. Rinse and no chance on cutting my fingers on the blades. It's actually amazing how much gunk stays stuck in the rubber seal at the bottom, even when cleaning it out like you show above.
ReplyDeleteMe too! We use our blender all the time and I take it apart after every use. The funk builds up quick under that rubber seal otherwise-bleh!
DeleteWell, it seems so easy to clean the Blender. I want to have a try.
